Black Horse Tavern
1 W Main St, Mendham, NJ 07945
The Prom is a lighthearted celebration to raise funds and spread awareness of the West Morris Junior Women’s Club’s mission to serve local families, small businesses, schools, and the larger West Morris community. This year, we have also selected a charity of great personal significance to our members, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, to receive a substantial donation from the proceeds we collect from this event.
JDRF is a world leader in type 1 diabetes research, advocacy, and engagement. Founded by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes, it won’t stop until it finds a cure.
We are going all-out with our prom attire and we hope you will too! Dress to the nines in the decade of your choice (1980s dresses, anyone?) and dance the night away with friends—or that special someone—enjoy delicious tapas and drinks, and peruse a wide selection of raffle baskets and silent auction items graciously donated from our amazing community.
Proceeds will allow the Juniors to continue serving the West Morris community through the many programs we host each year, such as our:
Annual Spelling Bee Contest for 4th and 5th graders to showcase their incredible spelling skills, get excited about learning, and compete to represent West Morris in the District Spelling Bee of the New Jersey Federation of Women's Clubs
St. Patrick’s Day Senior Luncheon to share a hot traditional meal and great conversation with senior citizens in the Mendham Senior Club
Spring into Success, a ladies night out shopping event to support local female entrepreneurs
Scholarship Awards for high school and middle school students who show a deep commitment to serving the local community
Paws for a Cause, a pet food drive to feed in support of the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter, which helps unwanted pets find forever homes
Halloween Poster Contest, to provide an opportunity for elementary students to express their creativity in a fun and lighthearted contest
Thanksgiving Food Drive, which partners with elementary schools to assemble and donate complete Thanksgiving meals to the Center for Family Services, and make a monetary donation to local soup kitchens, nourish.NJ and Market Street Mission
Luminary Sale, a traditional and uplifting event to provide holiday gifts for families in need at Family Promise, a nonprofit delivering innovative solutions for local families experiencing homelessness and poverty
We are SO excited for this event, an opportunity for us all to do some good while looking great! I guess what we’re asking is—will you go to Prom with us?
