Friday, May 17, 2024

6:30pm - 10:30pm

The Lamplighter

190 W Main St, Chester, NJ 07930

Live country music, mouth-watering BBQ, raffles and auctions, and a fun night out for a good cause, all taking place in one of the oldest buildings in Chester, NJ.

This fundraiser helps our local nonprofit serve families, small businesses, and schools across the West Morris community all year long.

Funds raised beyond our operating costs will be donated to a charity of great significance to our members, the Brooke Healey Foundation, which provides direct support to families who have children diagnosed with pediatric cancer. Two of our members (one active and one alumnus) have lost loved ones to this cruel diagnosis.

The funds we raise will make daily life just a little bit smoother for families who are fighting this battle right now. The Brooke Healey Foundation also supports targeted research, since oncologists believe finding a cure for DIPG may lead to a “home run cure” for all cancers.

If you don’t know anything about the West Morris Junior Women’s Club, that’s okay! Here are some of the programs we host each year:

  • Annual Spelling Bee Contest for 4th and 5th graders to showcase their incredible skills, get excited about learning, and compete to represent West Morris in the District Spelling Bee of the New Jersey Federation of Women's Clubs

  • St. Patrick’s Day Senior Luncheon to share a traditional meal and great conversation with senior citizens in the Mendham Borough Seniors Club

  • Spring into Success, a ladies night out shopping event to support local female entrepreneurs who don’t have traditional storefronts

  • Scholarship Awards for high school and middle school students who show a deep commitment to serving the local community

  • Paws for a Cause, a pet food drive to feed in support of the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter, which helps unwanted pets find forever homes

  • Halloween Poster Contest, to provide an opportunity for elementary students to express their creativity in a fun and lighthearted contest

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive, which partners with elementary schools to assemble and donate complete Thanksgiving meals to the Center for Family Services, along with monetary donations to local soup kitchens

  • Luminary Sale, a traditional and uplifting event to provide holiday gifts for local families experiencing homelessness and poverty

Thank you so much for supporting our West Morris community.

Don’t wait to reserve your spots—capacity is limited, and we have a feeling this might be the hottest ticket in the Wild West. See you there!
