May Members Event Success! Mothers Celebrating Mothers

This year for Mother’s Day, our wonderful members funded and put together 30 customized gift baskets and 40 kid card kits for the 30 women & 40 children currently living at the Jersey Battered Women Services (JBWS) Safe-house and Transitional Living facilities. JBWS provides victims and survivors of domestic abuse with the services necessary to escape their abusers (housing, clothing, food, legal services, therapy, etc). Our members came up with this event with the goal of bringing these single mothers, who are showing bravery while facing one of the most challenging experiences of their lives, a glimmer of joy and hope on Mother’s Day. This project was a multi-month process which could not have been accomplished without our amazingly generous and hard-working members and the sponsors noted below. The card kids were given to the children so that they could make cards and bracelets for their mothers for Mother's Day.

We are so grateful for the superb planning and organizing by members Alexis Laufer, Melissa Altieri, Angie Kennedy, Melissa D'Agostino, and Amanda Valenta. In addition, thank you Jill Braman for assisting in delivering baskets. We are excited to announce this will be a new annual member event!

Laufer, Dalena, Jensen, Bradley & Doran, LLC (Family Law firm) for funding the cost of the actual baskets & packaging materials

Rossy Pediatric Dentistry of Randolph and Carter Smile Pediatric Dentistry of Morris Plains for their generous donations of tooth brushes, tooth paste & other dental items; and Charged at Home, LLC for donating the WMJWC custom soaps and foot masks. If you would like to donate to JBWS please visit their website here. They are in dire need of daily items such as diapers, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and of course, monetary donations are always welcome.

JBWS, located in Morristown, NJ, provides assistance to women in Morris County who are victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. They offer domestic abuse victims with the ability to escape their abusers by providing free housing, therapy, pro bono legal services, and other basic necessities. If you or anyone you know is a victim of domestic violence, please refer them to JBWS: https://www.jbws.org/ 24-Hour Helpline & Referral: 1.877.R.U.ABUSED or 1.877.782.2873

WMJWC delivers Grace & Serenity

The WMJWC has partnered with Steam Soapery and Chester Candle. Our original scent is a delicate blend of lavender layered over fresh-cut greenery. Our products are made from all-natural ingredients, free of synthetics and toxins. The scent was curated carefully by Steam Soapery owner, Kaitlin Hester, to deliver a fresh, clean scent that could be enjoyed by all. It has been named to capture the essence of who we are at the WMJWC and what we wish to bring to our community. We have named our custom soap and candle Grace & Serenity, which is now available for purchase at Steam Soapery and online.

Grace & Serenity is available for purchase at Steam Soapery The more YOU enjoy Grace & Serenity, the more we can do! 20% of all sales will come back to the WMJWC to support our charitable work.

Welcome New Members Ariana Bath and Kelly Dauer-Hubschmitt and welcome back Lauren Kretzer
