General meeting has been moved to Thursday, January 21st, 2021 and will be virtual!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The West Morris Junior Women's Club would like to welcome our newest member Melissa Altiere. We are so happy to have you! The WMJWC is a local place of service, fellowship, and FUN! The WMJWC is always welcoming new members if YOU are looking to make friends while making a difference!

Annual Luminary Fundraiser Success

Our annual luminary fundraiser was a great success! Nearly 4000 residential luminaries were sold. All funds raised from residential luminary sales were used to purchase gifts for families in need. Funds above and beyond those needed to purchase gifts were given directly to Family Promise of Morris. In addition to our traditional luminary efforts we also raised money for the local Chester/Mendham Food Pantry. This effort began to illuminate Main Street in Chester and Mendham. This year we illuminated Chester with over 1800 lights! Illuminating Main Street allowed us to donate $2,583.45 to the Chester/Mendham Food Pantry. We were able to support local families in need while giving the community an evening of magic. While 2020 was a difficult year for us all, there are many more families struggling financially as a result of job loss or other consequences of the economic impact of COVID-19. The luminaries on Main Street in Chester represent unity, strength and love for this community. Since this was our first year illuminating Main Street we realized that the store and street lights make it challenging to see the luminaries. As a result, our volunteers increased the numbers of lights in each bag. For 2021 we are already working to source better, weather proof, products to achieve the magical look we aim to deliver!

Congratulations to our event Chairs - Lauren Martin, Kyleigh von Dohlen, and Nancy Ramirez-Davis for a successful fundraiser! Together they planned, organized and executed an extraordinary undertaking. On behalf of the West Morris Junior Women's Club we send our sincerest thanks to each member of the luminaries committee: Melissa D'Agostino, Radhika Truffa, and Amanda Valenta, who helped with residential sales, distribution and purchasing gifts for the families we sponsored. Finally, thank you to all of the members and community residents who set up luminaries on Main Street in Chester.

Special thanks to the Chester Police for their support and help with 2020 luminaries!

Membership With Benefits & An Enchanting Experience

One of the many benefits of being a WMJWC member is the cultivation of friendships with other members. Each year the club holds many social events. Due to COVID-19 this year, the club came up with creative alternatives to traditional membership events! Our members worked very hard in 2020, helping local people in need despite the challenges. WMJWC members continue to brightening our community during this difficult time. As a thank you for their perseverance, thoughtfulness and generosity, our members and member families were surprised with an enchanted sing along visit from the Snow Queen! The WMJWC expresses sincere gratitude to the Snow Queen from Perfect Princess Parties of NJ for traveling around Chester, Mendham, and Long Valley to provide holiday cheer and magic to our valuable members’ families. For information about hiring your own Snow Queen or other character for an enchanted experience visit www.perfectprincesspartiesnj.com
